How to Measure Your Own
1. Chest

2. Arm
To measure sleeve length, start from the top of your shoulder (near the neck) and measure down to the wrist bone.
3. Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.
4. Body Length
Measure from the shoulder seam (near the neck) down the back to the bottom, typically around the hips or waist.

What's the Difference Between Down & Fleece?
🪶 Down Jacket
Ultra-lightweight warmth-in-weight-ratio hero. It traps heat with airy clusters, packs tiny, and shines in dry, freezing climates (-10°C and below).
But: Loses insulation when wet and is less breathable.
🐑 Fleece Jacket
Breathable, quick-drying workhorse. Easy to layer, performs in high-output activities (hiking, skiing) or damp conditions.
But: Bulkier, less windproof, and needs extra layers in extreme cold.
Pro Tip: Pair down for static cold mornings, fleece for active days or mixed wet weather.

Pocket-Sized Reality Check
▸ Fleece Foibles: Better airflow but cold when static (lift queues = misery).
▸ Down Dangers: Warm when idle but sweat-soaked if pushed hard.
Fix It: Carry them both if it's possible.

Three-Layer System
The concept of the three-layer system originated from outdoor activities, designed to help people stay warm and dry in extreme weather conditions. Through a scientific layering approach, the base layer wicks moisture, the mid layer provides insulation, and the outer layer offers wind and water resistance while maintaining breathability. Although initially developed for mountaineering and exploration, this method is now widely used in sports like skiing, ensuring comfort and performance in various environments.
